Rep. Henry Waxman released a report today documenting the precipitous decline in enforcement activity at the Food and Drug Administration over the past five years. One scary finding: central headquarters in Washington repeatedly ignored recommendations from the FDA's regional offices to crack down on companies that failed to follow good manufacturing practices when making drugs and devices.
