Business Insurance, a Crain Communications publication (I used to work for another division of that company many moons ago) reports that General Motors will scrap traditional health coverage for its 24,000 salaried workers in favor of a high-deductible plan complimented with a $1,300-per-year contribution to a health savings account that can be converted into retirement funds if never used. (Hat tip to KHN.) I'm telling you this only because I couldn't resist writing that headline.
